New PRSSA Comittee elected
More than 200 new members from around the country went to New Orleans to elect a new national PRSSA comittee. It all began on March 26, 2009. Students prepared presentations and speeches as to reasons why they would be good for the committee and they were judged by a panel of professionals along with a CW Network representative. Out of the 200 students involved in the election only 8 were chosen to be apart of the national committee and represent the PRSSA. Congratulations on making the committee! Here piggy, piggy, piggy…
Today 109 cases of the swine flu have been confirmed in the United States. This is a contagious respiratory disease that comes from pigs that can be passed on to humans! The severity of the disease can vary, but be careful. It has only been found in 11 states in the United States so far, and the Center of Disease Control is hoping to find a way from preventing the spread of this dreadful disease. Symptoms include runny nose, fever, nausea, sore throat, vomiting, and diarrhea.
I really need to get more involved!!!
This semester is the first semester that I have really started to get in to public relations courses. I have met some many other students in the same field and have really realized that I need to get involved more! I have let just the schooling part of college consume my life and haven’t taken advantage of the other opportunities on campus. One of the things that I am planning on getting involved in is the PRSSA on campus. This will obviously benefit me and my future with public relations! Another thing that I was considering was giving back to the community and helping out with Habitat for Humanity.
Those two organizations will not only look good to future employers, but they will also things that I can look back on and think, “Wow I really did something in my college career, other than school, school, school!”
